Tony Wright from Bassetlaw Council’s sports development team commented: “The district schools cross country championships is always a great event to be involved because it is the only event in the schools’ sporting calendar that brings all nine secondary schools together to compete against each other.”

“We have deliberately staged our district races early this year, and so we can organise a couple of squad training sessions for the athletes that have qualified to compete in February.”
