Dinnington Racing Club and Andy Moore Racing duo join Aegir reliability ride

The weather started off misty, but as the day progressed the sun burnt through giving great riding conditions.

Matt Hindmarsh of Dinnington Racing Team and Liam Hindmarsh from Andy Moore Racing, both second claim Aegir members, cycled out from their home near Worksop to take part.

In the 50k ride, Paul Bacon and Daniel Nicholson chose category D, three hours 10 minutes.

The duo returned in 2:27, well within their time.

Their route took them out of Gainsborough to Lea then through Knaith Park, Kexby, Upton, Springthorpe, Corringham, Northorpe, Scotton, Scotter,Susworth before heading homewards alongside the River Trent, passing through East Ferry, Wildsworth, East Stockwith, Walkerith and Morton to finish at Ropery Road.

Trevor Halstead and the Hindmarsh pairing chose category B, 3:30 for the 50 mile ride, and were home in 3:05.

Their route took them along the A156, passing through Lea, Marton and Torksey.

At Torksey Lock the route followed the A1133 through Laughterton, Newton on Trent, Besthorpe, Collingham, and Langford.

Heading into Winthorpe village the riders followed the cycle route into Newark.

Leaving Newark the route headed through South and North Muskham, using the cycle path along side the A1 the ride progressed through Cromwell and then Carlton on Trent, Sutton on Trent. Grassthorpe and Ragnall.

Joining the A57 thetrio progressed through Dunham on Trent, crossing Dunham Bridge and heading through Newton on Trent.

The ride then retraced the outward route along the A1133 through Laughterton to Torksey Lock, then along the A156 through Torksey, Marton, Lea, cycling into town along Lea Road and Bridge Street to finish at 20 Ropery Road.

This Sunday will again see the club host reliability rides at 20 mile, 50k, 50 miles or 75 miles.

Meet at 9am at 20 Ropery Road, Gainsborough.

The club dinnerwill be held on Saturday 28th February at the Maltings, Lea Road in Gainsborough.

Tickets cost £17.50, include a three course meal and must be purchased by Saturday 21st February.
