Dinnington C come close

In Worksop Snooker League’s Division Two, Dinnington C took 15 points out of a possible 20 as the title race went to the very last game.

But Stanley G held firm to become champions in a dramatic last 24 hours.

The final fixture saw Dinnington come from behind to win 3-1 against Stanley B thanks to frames from Dinnington’s Frank Burke, Tom Salt and Pete Federenco.

The victory saw Dinnington C leap into first by a point, before Stanley G played against Bowling Club B.

Needing at least a frame, Patrick Gee stepped up in the opener to secure the title, and Andy Camm confirmed Stanley G’s superiority by taking a re-spotted black in the final frame to claim the title by one point.

The battle for the final promotion place came down to Notts Arena B versus Notts Arena C andwins from Harri Spencer and Tom Exley secured promotion for Arena B.

In Division One, Knockout Cup runners-up Welbeck A finished fourth after beating Anston into fifth.
