Dean’s time on stage 1 London to Dover was 7hrs 58mins 15secs; stage 2 Calais to Amiens 9-24-42; stage 3 Amiens to Paris 8-16-41. The wind and rain made it tough going for the 450 cyclists taking part but the weather cleared for the final escorted 40km into Paris.
Meanwhile, back home his clubmates were taking part in a 5.6-mile evening time trial held on the Laughton Lane-East Stockwith-Walkerith-Morton circuit. Andy Lewin was again the fastest rider with Aegir’s Jordan Skelly posting the second fastest time.
