Dean rides to Paris

Trent Valley Road Club’s Dean List travelled down to London on 20th June where he took part in Hot Chillee’s three-day London to Paris 520km cycle ride from Hampton Court in London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Dean’s time on stage 1 London to Dover was 7hrs 58mins 15secs; stage 2 Calais to Amiens 9-24-42; stage 3 Amiens to Paris 8-16-41. The wind and rain made it tough going for the 450 cyclists taking part but the weather cleared for the final escorted 40km into Paris.

Meanwhile, back home his clubmates were taking part in a 5.6-mile evening time trial held on the Laughton Lane-East Stockwith-Walkerith-Morton circuit. Andy Lewin was again the fastest rider with Aegir’s Jordan Skelly posting the second fastest time.

Results: Andy Lewin 13-18, Ian Ferraby 14-00, Paul Brownless 14-11, Shaun Pycroft 14-12, Mark Leeson 15-56, Rob Brooks 16-05, Cliff Lee 16-34, Mike Overton 16-34 (a welcome return to cycling following a serious pelvic injury), Jamie Cooke 16-51.
