Tim Smith Jnr fires Worksop to first win

Worksop Cricket Club chalked up their first win of the Bassetlaw League Division One season in style on Saturday when they beat Retford by 99 runs.

Tim Smith Jnr paved their way with a magnificent unbeaten 151, captain Harry Taylor adding 51 as they made 254-5.

Retford could not score quickly enough in reply and finished well short on 155-8, David Hancocks taking 4-32.

This Saturday Worksop play Farnsfield II away and Taylor added: It is a good set-up there and it's always interesting to see what team they put out with their first team being in the Championship. It will be a good game for us.”
