Tim is Miles better in a 17-run Ordsall Bridon win

A century and four wickets from the in-form Tim Miles helped Ordsall Bridon to a 17-run victory over Clipstone on Saturday.

The Bassetlaw Cricket League Championship fixture saw Miles and the visitors make 292 for 4.

Paul van den Heuvel (68) and Darren Spooner (48) contributed to the total, before Clipstone made a great effort at reaching the required runs.

Lee Wilson hit 157, but Miles (4 for 73) and Ordsall Bridon had them all out for 275.

Retford, meanwhile, lost out to local rivals Worksop by two wickets at Central Avenue.

Retford made 215 for 5, with Pascal Broadley hitting 47 and John Mattioli 35.

But Worksop reached 216 with two wickets remaining, Bernhard Beukman making 64, Wayne Spooner 42 and Tim Smith junior 41.

Broadley took 4 for 44 to cap a fine display, and Chris Bowers took 3 for 53.

North Wheatley with Leverton lost to Anston by two wickets.

In Division Two, Ordsall Bridon II were beaten by Mansfield and Pleasley by three wickets.

And Retford II, in Division Three, lost to Bawtry by eight wickets, despite Kashyap Suresh’s 65 not out.
