Schools cricket quarters
THE 25th annual Bassetlaw Schools Mini Cricket Championship has reached the quarter-final stage, despite the inclement weather.
Tuxford, winners for the last two years, fell at the first hurdle, losing in the group stage to St Anne’s and Ryton Park, although Gringley, last year’s runners-up, are in contention once again.
Amazingly, Redlands and St John’s, giants of Bassetlaw school sport, have never won the title but have both comfortably progressed to this stage this year.
The draw for the quarter-finals is: Everton v St John’s, Sturton-le-Steeple v Gringley, Redlands B v Ryton Park, Redlands A v St Anne’s.
These matches are scheduled to be played by 28th June.
