Nottinghamshire Premier League Round Three preview

Teams in the Nottinghamshire Premier Leauge will be hoping for a rain-free weekend during the third round of fixtures.

Caythorpe took advantage of being one of only two completed matches last week, by moving to the top of the table.

In one of the quirks of the scoring system, they are yet to record a win but equally, haven’t lost.

This weekend they travel to face Welbeck who were left frustrated as their trip to Clifton Village ended abandoned.

Both sides have been in good form with the bat so far so this promises to be a tight affair.

The Notts Academy lie second, after achieving the only win last week.

They travel to a Plumtree side that so far have struggled to live up to last season’s standards, although the abandonment of their game at Cuckney denied them the chance to really measure themselves.

The Academy gained a fairly comfortable five wicket victory over Kimberley with what will have been a pleasing team performance.

Radcliffe-on-Trent have made an impressive start to the season and currently lie tied for third with Cuckney.

They play host to Clifton Village who have seen both their matches so far end in abandonment.

Cuckney also sit on 30 points, four off the lead.

They travel to Attenborough who battled to a draw last week at Caythorpe.

Cuckney were denied the chance to chase 200 to beat to Plumtree by the weather so will be keen to take maximum points.

Like Clifton Village, Ordsall Bridon have also seen both their matches abandoned so far.

They will be hoping its third time lucky as they travel to Kimberley Institute.

The hosts sit bottom of the table after losing both of their matches.

The final game of the day is at Birchover Park, where the surprise 9th placed West Indian Cavaliers welcome a Farnsfield outfit who have struggled on their return to the NPL.

As will be the norm all season this year, all matches begin at 12 noon.
