RETFORD and Ordsall Bridon had an afternoon to forget, as both teams took just three points from their first taste of Championship action for the season.

At Thorpe Road, Ordsall Bridon were dismissed for 143 by Harthill, going on to lose by five wickets.

Retford hosted Anston and made 120 before being skittled, Martin Long accounting for four of the Cricket Field Lane wickets.

Anston then knocked off the runs for the loss of eight wickets, Pascal Broadley taking 3 for 21 for Retford as they lost by two wickets.

North Wheatley with Leverton gained five points in their losing draw with Glapwell.

Glapwell made 213 for 4 from their overs, North Wheatley with Leverton losing eight wickets as they reached a total of 165.

Richard Robinson made 53 of those runs.

In Division Two Ordsall Bridon’s seconds were beaten by Milton at home after being dismissed for 120.

Milton lost six wickets on their way to the required total as Jake Tong took 3 for 25 for Ordsall Bridon.

Division Three’s Retford II had a losing draw at Mansfield Road against Waleswood.

Clive Savage hit an unbeaten half century in Retford’s 120 for 6, while Waleswood made 196 for 6.

This Saturday in the Championship Retford travel to Harthill, while Ordsall Bridon are at home to Gainsborough side Marshalls.
