The 27-year-old will be available for the county’s first five Specsavers County Championship fixtures, starting with this week’s opener versus Gloucestershire and continuing with matches against Glamorgan, Northamptonshire, Sussex and Essex.

The tall paceman, who spent time on loan at Surrey last summer, has featured in 71 first-class fixtures, claiming 213 wickets at an average of 29 with best figures of 5-52.

He has also scored over 1,200 first-class runs with a top score of 92.

Elite Performance Director, Graeme Welch said: “We have a lot of cricket coming up over the next month and we want to ensure we have all bases covered.

“Luke is a skilful bowler who has plenty of experience taking wickets for Notts in Division One.

“He will bolster our attack during this busy period and it will also be an opportunity for him to get some regular first team cricket.”
