A local cricket-mad youngster has been rewarded for a fine 2013 Bassetlaw Junior season with a district bowling award.
Clumber Park Cricket Club product Matthew Beer has picked up the Bassetlaw Junior League’s Under 11 Bowling Award trophy for 2013.
The youngster, a student at Outwood Academy Portland in Worksop, was rewarded for his figures of 19 wickets at 4.16.
He was also the Clumber Park Under 11s Player of the Season last year, when he and his team-mates secured the Pete Warner Cup.
In other Clumber Park club news, the winter program with Under 11s and Under 13 training is scheduled to start on Friday 7th February at 7pm.
The sessions will run until 8.30pm, and the youngser sides will alternate weeks with Under 15s and Under 17s, and they will be held at Worksop College.
Senior training will begin later in the month, with the first session to be held on Monday 24th February from 8pm until 9.30pm,
The senios sessions will be at Cuckney Cricket Club.
A club spokesman appealed for new members and help them grow their teams for 2014.
He said: “Clumber Park Cricket Club caters for all abilities and anyone looking to join, young or old, is more than welcome.”
