Colts cantering after slow start

AFTER a slow start to the season, Dinnington Rugby Club’s Colts side have gone on a three-game winning streak.

Victories over Middlesbrough (32-7), Wath (55-5) and Cleckheaton (29-17) have turned the season around for the youngsters.

The Colts find themselves in a ight league this season, although a number of teams have had to fold due to lack of numbers.

A spokesman for the club told the Guardian their turnaround in form is promising for a good campaign this season.

“Some of Dinnington’s Colts have played together since the age of nine and they have built a good bond between themselves.”

“They lost at Middlesbrough in their first game of the season so when they came to Lodge Lane Dinnington were looking to reverse that score – they did that quite impressively and it gave them a momentum to take into their next games.”

“A convincing win against Wath was followed by an excellent victory over Cleckheaton, a side that were very strong and skilful and that had knocked Dinnington out of the cup only four weeks ago.”

“This little winning run bodes well for the remainder of the season.”

The Colts have no fixture confirmed for this weekend yet, but on 2nd December travel to Moortown.
