While the weather was fine, the course was an experience for first time runners, with a muddy cow field, sludge, water, electric fences and a wooded section.

Once again Gareth Lowe and Lewis Banton finished first and second, but with five of their top runners missing Clowne RR could only manage to take second place, losing out to Handsworth.

Clowne had one of their top lady runners back in the form of Sarah Attwood who led the ladies team.

Four ladies count in the competition and Carolyn Boyd Southern, Mel Adams, and Andrea Walker were the four Clowne ladies to count.

After three races Handsworth lead the competition with Clowne in second place, with local clubs Worksop and Retford fighting for third place.

The next race takes place on February 16th when Clowne hope to be able to let top UK vet 10km runner Andy Ward out of the cage to support his colleagues and hopefully pull back some points on Handsworth.
