Points win for Gerrard
MALTBY boxer Danny Gerrard took a points victory in a fight night in Barnsley on Saturday.
The middleweight beat Louis Byne by a score of 40-36.
Gerrard used his jab well, and although the fight got scrappy at times, his better work rate and punching power saw him through.
It was 29-year-old Gerrard’s second win of his two-fight professional career, his previous victory coming in Newark when he beat Ryan Clark.
