Best ever USPGA round for Westwood

Worksop’s Lee Westwood shot his best ever US PGA Championship round yesterday at Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester.

A 66, four under par, has put the 40-year-old one shot off the lead going into today’s second round.

He and Matt Kuchar were the only players in the field not to drop a shot in the opening 18 holes.

Birdies at the first, fifth and ninth saw him out in 32, before he picked up another shot at the 17th.
