Bassetlaw juniors excel at score event

BASSETLAW’S junior orienteers did well at the Brierley Country Park score event on Sunday.

They were challenged to visit as many controls as possible in 45 minutes.

Returning late meant that points were lost.

Top three positions were achieved by James Recaldin and Eleanor Cooley.

Results: 2nd James Recaldin 200pts 36min 35secs, 3rd Eleanor Cooley 200pts 37min 44secs, 4th Olivia Fowkes & Olivia Stirland 180pts 45min 41secs, 5th Cameron Ridgeway 180pts 46min 08secs, 6th Huw Brown 160pts 42min 46secs, 7th Amelia Biddulp 160pts 43min 18secs, 8th Jodie Wright 160pts 43min 20secs, 9th Stefan Taylor 150pts 47min 19secs, 10th Rudra Mutalik 140pts 43min 41secs, 11th Tom Cooley 140pts 51min 44secs, 12th Fraser Ridgeway 120pts 26min 28secs.

In the London city race, held on Saturday and run in an urban environment around St Paul’s Cathedral, Will Parkinson finished sixth out of a large international field.
