Aegir Cycling Club aim to cater for different abilities of riders with ‘multiple option’ rides on Sundays

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club are aiming to cater for the needs of riders of varying abilities, with a series of ‘multiple option’ rides on selected Sundays.

The 25-mile Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club Remembrance Day ride to Scotter was enjoyed by Trevor Halstead, Colin Smith, David Chaffey, George Carnall, Peter Hanks, and Dave Walker.

The group was joined for part of the ride by a guest rider.

Club member Loll Dickenson was unable to ride so he drove, joining his club members in Scotter.

The riders departed from Roseway in Gainsborough town centre going to Morton and through Laughton Woods.

The group then headed through Laughton to Laughton Wood Corner, past Scotter Common Nature Reserve and through Scotton.

They arrived at Scotter in good time, enabling them to take part in the village Remembrance service at the war memorial.

The Aegir group was made very welcome and joined villagers for tea and coffee in the chapel, and wish to express their thanks for the fantastic hospitality.

The ride home was through Laughton Woods heading along East Ferry Road and Laughton Lane to arrive in Morton, returning into Gainsborough along Ropery Road.

It was a very pleasant Autumn morning’s ride, Laughton Woods were a blaze of colour.

Next week’s event is to be held on Sunday 17th November, and will consist of the sercond round of the Gainsborough Aegir Speed Judging Event.

Riders should meet at Roseway Gainsborough at 9.20am.
