You've more chance of winning the Lotto than finding a Cadbury White Egg

The festive season may barely be over but Cadbury have already released their first batch of Creme Eggs, with a limited edition white egg also in circulation.

If you needed any more reason to eat the iconic Creme Egg, the white egg will come with a cash prize of up to £1,000.

But before you start gorging on boxes of Creme Eggs, you should know that there is more chance of winning the National Lottery than finding one of the rare eggs.

Every year Cadbury produce over 500 million Creme Eggs with two thirds devoured in the UK, but they are only releasing 350 white Creme Eggs into circulation meaning you have just a 0.0001 per cent chance of finding one.

The average UK Lotto player has a 1 in 9.3 chance of winning a prize in the National Lottery (source: Lottoland), the odds of scooping five numbers are 1 in 144,415 or 0.0007 per cent.

You are more likely to find the white Creme Egg than win the jackpot though, which players have a 0.000002 per cent chance of winning.

Cadbury in a statement, “To add to the egg-citement, this year, there’s a rare white chocolate Creme Egg to hunt down."

“Those lucky enough to find the ‘highly prized’ egg will also be in with a chance of winning up to £1,000.”

On the other hand, if you buy a lottery ticket you might win nothing. If you're chasing the white egg, worst case you still get a Creme Egg.
