Have you ever wanted to explore the world of music more easily, and discover songs and artists from around the globe?

Radio Garden allows you to do just that - here’s what you need to know.

How to use it

To begin, you’ll need to head to the Radio Garden website. From there, you can look around the globe, with each green dot representing a radio station.

Simply bring a green dot into the centre of the circle on your display, and Radio Garden will start playing that radio station.

The name of the station will appear, as well as the local time in that area. You can also pull up top radio stations in that area, and nearby stations too.

If you’ve found a station that you like, you can add it to your favourites by tapping the heart icon.

You can also search by country, city and station name if you like as well, rather than exploring around the globe, if you’re looking for something specific.

Some stations around the world are missing, but Radio Garden says that it is working hard to expand its station offerings.

Download the app

While the project initially launched as a web-only offering, there is now also an app available for use.

The app is available for free via the iOS app store, and the Android play store.

Simply search for Radio Garden in your app store, it is available to download for free.

‘One of the coolest websites’

While Radio Garden first enjoyed its first boost in popularity in 2016, it has once again gone viral on Twitter, with users taking to the social media platform to share their enjoyment of the streaming site.

One person Tweeted: “This is one of the coolest websites I’ve seen in a while: #RadioGarden. You can listen to almost any radio station on Earth by selecting it on a rotating globe. It’s created by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. Totally cool.”

Another wrote: “Holy cr*p guys! I just found an app called Radio Garden, and you can literally listen to any radio station in the world with perfect reception! I’m listening to J1 in Tokyo Japan, and it sounds like I’m playing music through Spotify. It’s crystal clear. I’m obsessed.”

“I've just found Radio Garden and my entertainment is sorted for the foreseeable - an interactive globe with access to radio stations across the world. The green dots represent different stations that immediately play when selected! Great quality too,” Tweeted another.
