Police investigate 'sudden death' in Worksop park

Police have been called to a Worksop park to investigate reports of a ‘sudden death’.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called to The Canch, off Memorial Avenue, Worksop, at about 5.40am today (Sunday, April 11).

Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Emergency Services were in attendance and a scene is in place whilst officers conduct enquiries, gather the necessary evidence and establish the circumstances around the death.

”Formal identification has not yet taken place.

“Anyone with any information that could help the investigation is encouraged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 126 of 11 April 2021.”

Worksop residents have reported seeing forensics officers in white coats in the park and have urged other people to avoid the area while it is blocked off.
