Nottinghamshire Police were called to an incident in Little Top Lane in Lound, Retford, after reports of an attempted burglary at 1.10am today (Monday) was spotted on CCTV.

A full-force response was deployed to the scene as soon as it was reported, and a police drone quickly located a suspect in woodland, who ran to a nearby car and drove off in an attempt to escape capture.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Moore from Nottinghamshire Police who is leading the investigation, said: "This incident saw a very quick approach by our response colleagues who were able to co-ordinate both the drone and the dog teams to the scene.

"It led to a man being located and arrested nearby who remains in custody while we carry out our investigation work.

"Burglaries are taken extremely seriously by the force and Nottinghamshire Police will use all the resources available to track down offenders."
