Youth's night out with cocaine

A Mansfield youth who was caught by pub staff with cocaine told magistrates it was '˜just a night out really'.

Joseph Parkin, 19, of Booth Crescent, admitted possessing the Class A drug at the Rush Bar on Clumber Street, on February 27.

Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting, said Parkin told police he paid £40 for the drug and it was for personal use. He said he had taken it before but did not have a problem.

Parkin said: “It was just a night out really.”

He was fined £200 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and costs of £85.
