WORKSOP: Hats off to our humble bin men

The modern world certainly is a cut and thrust one.

So many people are in pressurised and highly demanding jobs.

I particularly admire the devotion shown by carers and medical staff, but to me the most difficult job of all is undertaken by the humble bin man.

Why? Because no matter what the weather, they are out and about, early each morning keeping all our discarded waste collected and disposed of efficiently.

Mind you, during the summer months, their job is made far, far worse by rotting matter and vegetation left in our bins. The awful stench from many bins as I pass by them stacked up in the street is a real health hazard.

So please, please think of the poor old bin men before putting your waste out.
