Youngsters’ charity walk

Four youngsters from Tickhill and Blyth put their best feet forward and trekked 6.5 miles each to raise £500 for a Doncaster hospice.

Daisy Ellison, nine, her sister Amy, seven, both of Tickhill, together with friends Elliot Everatt, nine, and his sister April, six, of Blyth, took part in the walk to say thank you to St John’s Hospice for the way staff looked after a family friend who sadly died of cancer last year.

Organiser Daisy said: “Last year I did a sponsored walk for a cancer charity because one of my daddy’s best friends, Rob Taylor, had treatment at Weston Park Cancer Hospital. This year I wanted to do the walk for the hospice, where they looked after him before he died.”
