Worksop: Woman caught wearing stolen Matalan jacket
A Worksop woman was found in possession of a stolen jacket.
Daniella Smith, 25, of Cheapside, pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday 23rd January.
The store manager at Matalan saw Smith wearing one of three jackets that had been stolen from the store in October. Smith said that she needed a winter coat and bought it for around £15 from a friend who said that it was his ex-girlfriend’s.
In mitigation, David Verity said that Smith had no idea the jacket had been stolen.
Smith was ordered to pay Matalan £35 compensation.
