Worksop: Thieves steal handbag from woman’s home

Brazen thieves walked into a home and stole a handbag while the occupant and her grandson were inside.

One of the men held the terrified woman in a chair while the other searched the house in Sandy Lane.

Police are now appealing for information about the theives who carried out the theft on the evening of 20th December.

The offenders walked through the unlocked front door of the Worksop home around 7.40pm on Friday evening.

One of the men pushed the 65-year-old woman into a chair and the other held her there while his accomplice searched the house.

Police said the men left the property separately.

The first struggled with the woman before taking a small clutch bag with a black tassel.

The first suspect is described as a white man of medium build, 5ft 8in tall and in his early 20s.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and dark bottoms.

The second man was also white and of a slim build, he is described as around 6ft 1ins tall and in his 20s.

He was wearing a dark waist-length hooded top with the hood up, plain jeans and footwear with a white sole.

Detective Inspector Ash Wilson, of Notts Police, urged anyone who knows who the two men are to get in touch.

DI Wilson said: “This was a brazen robbery in which the offenders had no issue with terrifying the victim while she was in her own home.”

“If you know who these two are get in touch.”

“Please remain vigilant to anyone acting suspicious in your area and keep your doors locked, even when you are at home.”
