Worksop: Thief swiped stone chippings from firm
A Worksop man who stole stone chippings from a Retford firm was sentenced to do unpaid work when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday.
David Foster , 27 of Cheapside admitted stealing aggregates of an unknown value belonging to Kiely Brothers Surfacing Company in Retford on 5th May. Witnesses told police they saw two men shovelling chippings into a van.
When he was arrested, Foster said the chippings had been there for two or three weeks.
The defendant had put two or three barrow loads into the van when he was caught.
He was given a 12 month community order.
