Worksop: Tesco team take on Three Peaks Challenge

A team from Tesco in Worksop will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for charity.

Colleagues Sarah Short, Chris Rowbotham, Mark Wilson, Jack Somerset, Rachel Fores and Lee Bradford are intending to complete the 25.5 mile trek which involves climbing three mountains in 12 hours.

To prepare for the challenge, the group are training intensively. Sarah is doing an hour every day rowing on her machine plus competing in county table tennis matches. Chris and Lee are mountain biking at Sherwood Pines and Mark and Rachel are hitting the gym four times a week. Jack is long distance running three times a week.

The walkers will be fundraising for Bluebell Wood. Rachel said: “We decided to carry out the challenge in aid of Bluebell Wood as it firstly an amazing local charity, some colleagues have first hand experience with Bluebell Wood and we also believe that the work they carry out is priceless.”

The Tesco team are carrying out a range of fundraising activities. They are holding a carboot on 21st September, £5 a car and £10 per van. Tickets will be available from the store’s customer service desk on the day.
