A teenage boy charged with the rape and assault of a female jogger in Worksop has appeared in court today.
The 17-year-old, who can not be named for legal reasons, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday 31st July.
The alleged attack happened on Tuesday 1st April on Eddison Park Avenue, Gateford. He was arrested two days later on Thursday 3rd.
The defendant, who is of no fixed address, had previously appeared at Nottingham and Mansfield Magistrates’ Court before appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday 22nd April for the first time.
The youth spoke only to confirm his name. He stood in the dock wearing a white shirt with a blue tie and black trousers.
He was remanded in a secure accommodation centre until Monday 18th August where he is expected to enter a plea to the charges.
