Worksop: Swimming star Cole is racing up the rankings

Rigorous training and dedication is certainly paying off for Worksop College pupil, Cole Hewitt, who is climbing the ranks in his swimming career and is now ranked in the top 20 in the country for 50m butterfly.

Cole, 13, recently finished third in his event at North East of England Championships in a time of 29.87sec, just 0.01 seconds behind second place.

For two years in a row, he has swum in the IAPS National finals and on both occasions taken third place in the 25m butterfly.

Cole also recently represented Nottinghamshire in the National Inter Club Championships and trains regularly with Retford Swimming Club and Sheffield City.
