Worksop: A spate of burglaries at Lilliput Day Nursery

Lilliput Day Nursery in Worksop has seen a spate of burglaries over the last few weeks.

The first burglary happened between 6pm on Friday 9th August and 7.20am on Monday 12th August when a red and green plastic slide was stolen from the grounds of the nursery which is located in The Canch, Worksop.

Then there was a second burglary which happened some time between 6pm on Wednesday 14th August and 7.20am on Thursday 15th August when toys were stolen from the shed, which had been forced open.

Manager at the nursery, Penny Smith, said: “We’re a bit cross but more upset than anything,”

“Our poor kids have nothing to play with.”

“We’re very sad.”

Many of the toys stolen were Little Tikes Toys including two crocodile see-saws, a car, a basketball post and hoop, a picnic bench, and a yellow table with red chairs.

Also various ride-on toys were stolen, including a tractor and trailer, and a blue wheelbarrow with yellow handlebars.

House-to-house enquiries have been made and patrols have been increased in the area to reduce the chance of further crime and to provide reassurance to the community.

The investigation continues.
