There will be 12 yoga and pilates classes with 12 different teachers over 12 hours plus yoga related workshops, stalls, a raffle and a sponsored Sun Salutation challenge.

This is a fun opportunity for yogis and yoginis (beginners and experienced) to develop their practice together with local teachers and to raise funds for Aurora, a charity with centres in various towns, including Worksop, to support men and women affected by cancer.

Teachers from across Yorkshire and Derbyshire are voluntarily offering different styles of yoga including Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa, and themed classes for children and sportspeople

Various workshops will cover yoga philosophy, nutrition, reiki, ayurveda, vedic chanting, Kirtan, meditation, and Thai Yoga massage.

Participants can come to as many or as few sessions as they like or just browse the stalls exhibiting yoga and general wellbeing products and services.

The Sun Salutation Challenge, supported by Atherton Godfrey Solicitors is for everyone to come together to practice 108 rounds (or as many as they want to) of the Sun Salutation (a 12 yoga pose sequence) at their own pace or led by the instructors.

Sponsorship is optional and sponsorship forms are available in advance and on the day.

Local and national businesses, including event sponsor, Tall Trees Yoga & Pilates Studio, Doncaster, have kindly donated gifts to the Yogathon raffle such as yoga mats, beauty treatments and class passes.

The Yogathon is open to all ages and abilities – experience and flexibility are not required.

Just come suitably dressed in loose comfortable clothing and bring sufficient water.

All proceeds will help Aurora Wellbeing Centres at Worksop, Doncaster and Mexborough.
