Worksop shopping centre unveils Christmas plans

WORKSOP’S Priory Shopping Centre has unveiled plans to ensure shoppers get into the Christmas spirit.

The centre has enlisted the help of the local Salvation Army Brass band to create a festive atmosphere on Saturday 24th November, when the town’s Christmas lights are switched on.

The Priory Church of England School Choir will be performing all day and the Worksop Lions Santa’s Sleigh will also be visiting the centre.

Speaking about the festive plans, Priory Shopping Centre manager, Lynette Bray said: “Everyone is starting to get excited about Christmas, it’s one of the most important periods in the retail calendar and I really wanted to provide a selection of entertainment from shoppers of all ages.”

A roast chestnut stall and a retro pop-up sweet shop will also be situated in the centre in the run up to Christmas.

Free parking will be available each Sunday in December up until the big day and late night shopping will run each Wednesday from 28th November to 19th December when the centre’s stores will keep their doors open until 8pm.
