Staff from the Worksop store paid a visit to Treetops at Celtic Point and PR ambassador Rebecca Dilks went to Shireoaks to help run some after-school baking sessions at St Luke’s Primary and visited Little Acorns Nursery to see how their new toys and games to help them learn.

“Treetops Nursery were really appreciative of this year’s Active Kids Equipment as it forms part of a renovation to their outdoor area,” said Rebecca.

“The children have great fun using the equipment and look forward to new and exciting things to play with.

“Customers at Sainsbury’s stores across Worksop have been really supportive this year and it’s great to visit a benefiting organisation.

“The scheme helps to teach children the benefits of a healthier more active lifestyle and we love to see each year’s new equipment benefitting our local children.

“As a consequence of the scheme, pupils at St Luke’s have benefitted through the healthy eating aspect of the scheme as they have received baking equipment through Active Kids to help children learn healthy recipes to bake.

“And Little Acorns Nursery has used the active kids scheme to restock their toys and games to promote active learning and living within their children.

The games and items are bright and vibrant to help stimulate the children in their learning.”

More than 43,000 schools, clubs and groups are signed up to benefit from Sainsbury’s Active Kids.

This year alone, the scheme has delivered more than £11 million worth of equipment and experiences to schools, clubs and organisations.

Meanwhile, £160 million worth of equipment and experiences have been donated to schools, groups and clubs across the UK since it launched in 2005.

“We hope that by the next campaign, the rest of the local schools, nurseries and children’s community groups are signed up to use the active kids scheme. And to boost the amounts raised at each beneficiary,” added Rebecca.
