Worksop: Saturday girl stole more than £6,000 from employers

A woman has pleaded guilty at Worksop Magistrates’ Court to stealing more than £6,000 from her employers.

Kalyen Askew, 18, of Cusworth Way, Worksop, admitted taking the money over a number of weeks while she worked as a Saturday girl at Boot’s in Worksop.

When an investigation was carried out, she immediately admitted what she had done.

Defending, Mr David Verity said: “She was not using this money for luxury items, she had moved out of her mother’s house and was using it to pay bills and buy food for her new accommodation.”

She was bailed, pending a report by the probation service, to appear again before magistrates on 24th July.
