Brenda Bolton and Michael Kirkham, both from Worksop, began working at the Royal Mail delivery office on Ryton Street 35 years ago and say they ‘still love’ their jobs.

Along with their team, Brenda and Michael work hard to deliver letters and parcels across the S80 and S81 areas- covering Worksop, Whitwell, Creswell and beyond.

Said Michael: “It takes a while to build a rapport with the community, but when you’ve been here as long as us you become part of the family. There are some lovely people in the area.”

Brenda added: “I’ll retire quite soon, but I know I’ll get bored and come straight back.”

“I’ve been chased by a fair few dogs and even geese during my career, and once a package was sent in we thought was a bomb- it’s been interesting. But I have loved my time here.”

Tamsin Stevenson, delivery office manager, said: “Brenda and Michael are the epitome of the best and most trusted workers at the Royal Mail.”

“Brenda is the Mum of the office and Michael keeps everyone laughing. They’ve both been here a long time and are an asset to the company.”
