Worksop: Rotarians raise close to £3,000 for charities with Christmas collections

On December 10 and 11, Rotarians held a collection at Tesco on Gateford Roadwhich raised £889.

Then on December 21 and 22, another collection at Morisson’s in Worksop, together with bag packing by the Worksop Air Cadets, raised £1,927.

A Rotary spokesman said: “Our thanks go to Tesco and Morrison’s and to all the generous shoppers in the Worksop area.”

“All donations will go to local charities.”

Future fund-raising events this year include the annual wimathon will be held at Worksop College on March 6.

They group will again be holding a concert at Outwood Academy Portland on March 31.
