Notts Police are appealing for witnesses after a cat was shot twice with an air rifle.

The incident took place in Kilton, Worksop between 18th and 24 Aprilth 2015.

Cat owner Michael Hurst had his suspicions raised when his cat, who rarely stays outside for very long, left the house on 18th April and did not return.

The injured black, white and ginger cat eventually made it home on 24th April, where it was taken straight to the vets, receiving £900 worth of treatment.

The cat is alive and well with no lasting injuries.
