Worksop: Personal training business raises big cash for Bluebell Wood

A total of 16 clients from 365 Functional Fitness, took part in an endurance challenge – with clients completing several half marathons on a rowing machines.

The business raised over £1,900 for the charity..

Howard Hill, owner of 365 Functional Fitness, said “It was another great effort of people coming together to help raise much needed money for such a great local charity.” “365 Functional Fitness has now raised a total of £3,950 since opening in 2013 for Bluebell Wood.”

Bluebell Wood, based in North Anston, has a highly specialised care team, offering care and support to children with complex medical needs and a shortened life expectancy.

Melanie Rose, Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We provide specialist care and support for more than 200 children and their families, both in our hospice and in the community.

“We’re extremely lucky to have so much support from people like Howard and 365 Functional Fitness who raise awareness of the work of our hospice, which is filled with love and laughter.

“It costs £3m a year to keep our doors open and we receive less than 10 per cent Government funding. Every penny raised makes a huge positive difference and I’d like to thank Howard and his clients for this fabulous support.”

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has appointed Kath Henderson as its new chair of trustees.

Kath, of North Anston, is a healthcare professional with an extensive nursing background spanning almost 38 years.

She has been a Bluebell Wood Trustee since 2010 and following a long career in the NHS, now works as an independent consultant.
