Worksop: Mother escapes jail over non-payment of fines

Amber Stewart, fo Sandy Lane, was handed a 28-day suspended sentence after pleading guilty to non-payment of fines.

Mrs Stewart showed up at court with her small daughter in tow and stood with the child in her arms during the proceedings.

Defending, Mr Tony Hadfield said: “She was under the impression that the money would be taken from her partner’s benefits because it was he who had signed the forms when the original orders were made by the courts.”

“She promises she will not miss payments again.”
