Worksop: Mcdonald's launch table service as part of major revamp

The changes at the Worksop eaterie focus on providing customers with more choice as to how they order and pay, adapting how the food is prepared and served as well as offering new technological features.

Customers will now be able to order from newly installed digital kiosks at the restaurant with the option of having their food deliveredto their table- though the restaurant will still offer the option of ordering at the till.

Franchisee Bob Meadowcroft, who operates four McDonald’s restaurants in Gainsborough as well as the one that has been transformed in Worksop, said: “We’re thrilled with the transformation because we’re committed to offering our customers more choice and fast service.

“Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our customers’ eating out experience, so the new technology we’ve introduced recognises the way people live their lives today.

“The addition of table service enables customers to order at the self-order kiosk and then sit down at a designated zone to get served.

“From mums coming in with their kids, to people coming in and having a working lunch, I am expecting the feedback to be positive,” Mr Meadowcroft added.

The restaurant re-opened last week on Thursday, March 3 following the refurbishment.

Free to use tablets have also been installed at some tables for customers who want to check their newsfeed and emails or play games.

The restaurant redesigns include a striking new décor which aims to create a more enjoyable space for customers to enjoy.

Table service will now begin to roll out throughout 2016 to many of the restaurants undergoing ‘digital transformations ‘like the one on Highg rounds Road.

By the end of this year, over 400 Mcdonald’s restaurants across the country will offer table service to their customers.
