Worksop: Man unearths World War Two letters sent before his dad was killed
Roy Foulds has the keepsakes at his home on Dawber Street.
The handwritten letters were sent from his mum Gwen to his dad George.
In one letter from his mum to his dad, sent in September 1942, she says that the children are missing him and that tears have been shed ‘many times’. She also tells him not to worry and that every one is ‘alright’.

Roy told the Guardian that his mum wrote another letter to his dad on 11th December where she talks about Christmas, but unfortunately Gwen then received a letter just three days later saying that her husband had been killed whilst fighting.
