Worksop man to face rape trial

A Worksop man who denies raping a 16-year-old girl has been remanded in custody until his trial.

Miroslav Padol, 36, of Hereford Close, appeared before Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday with a Polish interpreter and pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape between May and August this year.

Judge Michael Stokes, the Recorder of Nottingham, fixed the trial for 21st January. It is expected to last about three days.

Padol has already been in custody for more than three months.
