Christopher Pool, of Waverley Place, appeared at Worksop Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 24th April.

Ruth Snodin, prosecuting, told the court that Pool was confronted by his Father after swearing at his Mother in their home on 12th March.

Pool then threw a laptop at him, causing substantial bruising to his chest and £400 of damage.

He assaulted his Father again on 15th March by punching him after he was asked to leave home due to his violent behaviour.

Pool later moved into his girlfriend’s home and assaulted her during an argument, grabbing her wrist in an attempt to grab her phone.

Defence solicitor Ian Pridham said that Pool later told the police, ‘If it hurt her, then I’m sorry.’

Mr Pridham added that Pool had a ‘short temper’ but ‘expressed remorse completely and utterly’ for his actions, and that he had been feeling down for some time after the death of his Grandfather.

Pool was sentenced to a community order of 12 months, along with 100 hours of unpaid work.

He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs, compensation of £250 and £200 towards the repair of the laptop.

Pool was also banned from contact with his girlfriend under a 6 month restraining order.
