Shaun Chadwick started the gruelling expedition on Saturday, March 12 and hopes to cross the finish line this weekend.

The 29-year-old decided to tackle the walking expedition, from Kirk at the Scottish border to Edale in the Peak District, in memory of his nan, Ann Hagen, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2014.

Shaun has already collected 51 donations and raised over £1,200 for Cancer Research UK.

Shaun’s friend, Glenn Cutts, is walking with him and has raised £310 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Shaun’s mum, Gail Chadwick, said: “Shaun had difficulties at the start of the trek due to injuries, but he says the scenery on the Pennines is absolutely amazing and this is what has kept has spurred he and Glenn on in their journey.

“They have both been alternating between camping and staying in B&Bs, but still have to carry all their camping equipment, which obviously makes the walk even harder.

“It’s a long way- longer than a lot of people think. I’m very proud of them both- I certainly couldn’t do what they’re doing.
