Anthony Layhe, 38, of Cheapside, Worksop, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 20th November, and pleaded guilty to four different thefts and failing to surrender to custody.

The magistrates were told that from 15th August to the 18th October, Layhe stole £105 worth of Parker jackets from Matalan, £119.98 worth of razors from Boots, £54 worth of beef joints from Asda and £33 worth of DVDs.

He would then sell what he stole to pay his rent.
