Christopher Morris, 44, of Trent Street, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment alarm or distress.

Prosecutor Ruth Snowdin said Morris has been asked to leave the supermarket, but refused and began arguing with the manager in the doorway.

Morris smelled of alcohol, his eyes were glazed and he was unsteady on his feet, she added.

Defence solicitor David Verity said Morris was ‘full of remorse’ for his actions. Morris was fined £80 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
