David Northage, of Herrick Drive, told Worksop Magistrates’ Court he accidentally left the dogs outside after taking the bins out. The dogs then attacked a woman who was visiting her son next door, causing bruising to her legs.

Northage went on to say this was a ‘one-off’ attack and that he trusted the dogs with his young grandchildren.

Magistrates said they felt the dogs should be destroyed, but wanted to give Northage the opportunity to seek advice on how to control the them first.

Case adjourned until 22nd May at 10 o’clock.
