Crystal Lucas is inviting slimmers to attend weekly support meetings at Worksop Cricket Club in a bid to shift some excess weight before Christmas- and there’s the chance to win a cash prize.

Members will be asked to supply their ‘one off’ £10 joining fees which will be collected and given as prize money to the slimmer who loses the most weight at the end of the scheme.

The nine week programme started on 20th October, but Crystal is hoping to welcome more members to the meetings which will continue until 22nd December.

Said Crystal: “Weekly meetings with weight loss groups like Weight Watchers or Slimming World can be expensive, but my event only costs £10 which members will be given the chance to win back.”

“That means if only ten people join, the person who loses the most weight will have £100 to treat themselves or buy presents ahead of Christmas- it’s a great incentive.”

“You can follow whatever diet you like during the programme- whatever suits you best. I will weigh each member to chart their progress and people can pass on tips or chat about what they’re struggling with.”

“I recognise that people who are more overweight than others tend to lose weight quicker, so I will be calculating loss by weight percentage to make it fair.”

Crystal added that she was grateful to staff at Worksop Cricket Club, who gave her a room on their premises to hold the meetings which will take place on Mondays.

She said: “Other venues were wanting fees, but I can’t afford that. I’m not doing this for the money. I want members of the community to know they can access support with their weight loss without spending a fortune.”
